Casting Call for THESE ARE OUR NEIGHBOURS

We are casting for the role of Sam in These Are Our Neighbours. Read on for role description and how to apply.

THE ROLE

We are auditioning for the role of Sam (any gender). If cast, you would become a member of a three-person cast, working with Umar Butt (playing Jai) and Leticia Sánchez (playing Frankie). All cast members play other small roles (sometimes with text, sometimes simply with their bodies) as well as their main role.

Sam is a person at the Kenmure Street protest. Sam lives across the street from the two men who were detained. Sam came out into the street almost as soon as the protest started, when there were only about 10 people surrounding the van. Sam can be played by someone of any gender, any heritage, any body type.

Sam has been to protests before. Sam starts the day expecting the police to stop the protest soon, and for the two men in the van to be taken away by Immigration Enforcement. Sam is about to have the most unexpected day.
